What Is the 100 Best Fleets Program?

The program recognizes and rewards peak performing fleet operations in North America. Currently in its third year, 100 Best Fleets identifies and encourages ever-increasing levels of performance improvement within the fleet industry.

100 Best Fleets is sponsored by Government Fleet Magazine, FASTER fleet management information and services company CCG Systems, Inc. and Tom Johnson, consultant and author.

Program Purposes

  • Identify outstanding operations for others to emulate.
  • Promote pride in the industry.
  • Provide recognition via press releases, awards and recognition within the larger organization and community that the winning fleets serve.
  • Provide recognition within the national fleet community.
  • Promote ever-increasing levels of productivity and operational effectiveness.
  • Encourage more individuals to consider fleet operations as a career choice.

Program Involvement

  • Completion of the application process
  • Series of ten seminars offered in major cities over a 10-month period. Seminar attendance is not required for consideration; however, each seminar will provide helpful suggestions for completing the application process and highlight the excellent practices currently used at successful fleet operations across the country. Former program winners will also share how their operations qualified for consideration and discuss their experiences with the process.

All Recipients

  • All winners will have press releases sent to their local newspapers (and any agency or organization publication so designated) that describe the award criteria and highlight the organization’s qualification for and winning of their designation as one of the 100 Best Fleets in America.
  • Letter sent to the Mayor, County Administrator or other senior officials/officers of each winning organization outlining the program and the selection of their fleet as a winner.
  • Publication of all winners in Government Fleet Magazine and FASTER News Fleet Newsletter with extra copies provided to each winning site for distribution.
